Joe Fortes 25th Anniversary

On Wednesday November 10th, I attended the Joe Fortes 25th Anniversary which was quite the spectacular celebration. MC by my friend Dawn Chubai who is one of the hosts of CITY TV’s Breakfast Television this was an event like none other.

The party was sold out months before and guests were dressed in glamour, this was a Black Tie event after all.

There were a multitude of wineries pouring their finest bubbly on the main floor as well as the second level and rooftop lounge. There was beer from Whistler Brewing too!

Canapes created by Executive Chef Scott Pratico and his team were passed around all night long, sister restaurant Goldfish Pacific Kitchen was also on hand with Chefs Curtis Webb and Ryan Mah dishing out a wonderful veal dish! Oyster Bob was serving up Oysters as fast as he could shuck them for guests.

Then there were fabulous desserts including the coffee cream puffs and the chocolate fondue along with fruits for dipping! Pastry Chef Kelly Urbanoski also created the beautiful 25th Anniversary Cake.

DJ Leanne and her band with live congo drums had the guests dancing late into the night.

Congratulations to Bud and Dotty Kanke (Proprietors) for a great celebration! Wishing Joe Fortes many more years!

Lin Chinese Cuisine Celebrates 3 Years

On Tuesday November 9th I attended the 3rd Anniversary Multi-Course Banquet dinner at Lin Chinese Cuisine in South Granville.

Dish after dish arrived to our table and this delicious meal featuring many of their new menu creations.

These were my favourite dishes served during the evening.

Charm Modern Thai Celebrates 2 Years

On Wednesday November 3rd, I attended the 2nd Anniversary party at Charm Modern Thai in Yaletown. The wine and cocktails were flowing all night long, as soon as the tasty Thai food arrived to the table it was devoured within minutes, the chefs were busy keeping up to their hungry guests. DJ Skilla was mixing up loud music all night long, keeping guests entertained.

Top Table Group Trifecta Anniversary

On Wednesday October 27, I attended the Top Table Group’s Trifecta Anniversary party at CinCin where they were celebrating the anniversaries of 3 of their restaurants. CinCin’s 20th Anniversary, West & Blue Water Café each turning 10.

It was a spectacular evening of wonderful wines, cocktails and canapés, I tried almost every dish and loved Blue Water Café’s sushi, West’s Shortrib Marrow, Araxi’s Crab Sushi Rolls and CinCin’s Mushroom Risotto and Stuffed Ravioli!

Jack Evrensel –proprietor welcomed everyone who attended graciously and this was a fabulous party to attend. The chefs and their teams from each of the 5 restaurants were present creating appetizers for the guests.

On the dessert table, CinCin Chef Thierry Busset put out a beautiful spread of his wonderous desserts and of course I tried every one of them, my favourites were the Pistachio Macarons, Chocolate Macarons, Soucres, Raspberry Tarts and the Tiramisu cups. Chef Thierry Busset also created a masterpiece Anniversary Cake that incorporated all of their restaurants in quote the showpiece.

La Brasserie Celebrates 2 Years

On Sunday October 3rd I attended La Brasserie’s Two Year Anniversary & Oktoberfest Party. Beer Steins were filled to the brim with German beer and Octoberfest specialties served up including their tasty soft Pretzels.

Many of the guests were dressed in festive attire to celebrate the occasion.

The Lazy Gourmet Celebrates 30 Years

On Wednesday September 29, I attended The Lazy Gourmet 30th Anniversary party at Hycroft. It was a stunning afternoon and guests mingled on the outside patio as well as inside sipping martinis and wine while nibbling on signature favourites. Susan founded her company over 30 years ago and I am thrilled to have known her for almost as long.

Urban Thai Celebrates 10 Years

On Wednesday September 15, I attended the 10th Anniversary party at the Urban Thai Bistro. There was a Monk Blessing Ceremony taking place as I arrived and soon after a beautiful Thai Dance Show as guests mingled over wine, sangria, and tasty Lychee Martinis.

Their team of chefs were serving up their authentic Thai appetizers and my favourite was the Chicken Satays with Thai Peanut Sauce.

Mis Trucos Celebrates 1 Year

On Sunday night August 29th I attended the 1st Anniversary party at Mis Trucos with my friend and photographer Noam.

The patio was filled with people mingling and drinking and inside the dining room guests were eating tasty menu favourites and drinking white wine sangria.
