Patio Dining at Doppio Zero Pizza

In this ongoing series I will be featuring all sorts of patio dining experiences from small restaurants with one table on their patio, to large restaurants with multiple tables on the patio, to hidden patios, and ones with unique patio configurations that have been created during the covid19 pandemic.

Here is one of the patio dining meals that I have experienced recently.

Patio Dining at Doppio Zero Pizza

Enjoyed a tasty dinner on the outside patio yesterday sharing a selection of dishes and desserts with Lawrence. This restaurant features an open air patio in front of the restaurant with several tables that are distanced and covered by umbrellas.

We began with a bottle if Italian Sparkling Water and a pizzaolo’s specialty dish from his area of Italy which isn’t on the menu, just a delicious surprise of fried pizza dough with 2 different toppings to tempt our taste buds.

Polpette di Carne al Pomodoro – Italian Meatballs with homemade marinara sauce

Cavoletti – crispy brussels sprouts, capers, parmigiano Reggiano

Insalata Rucola, Pere e Noce – arugula, pears, walnuts, parmigiano reggiano, balsamic dressing, this was a tasty salad loved how all the flavours came together.

Insalata Caprese –choice of burrata or fior di latte, vine ripe tomatoes, basil, extra virgine olive oil

House-Baked Bread

Margherita DOP –bufala fior di latte, san marzano tomatoes, basil, a serious Margherita pizza where you get a great taste of the dough (Pizzaiolo, Daniele Ingala)

Della Terra — fior di latte, slow cooked onions, pancetta, rosemary roasted potatoes; loved the flavours and texture of the elements on this pizza (Pizzaiolo, Daniele Ingala)

J. Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon (BC) loved this wine, perfectly paired with the pasta.

Tagliatelle al Tartufo — egg tagliatelle, cremini mushrooms, white wine truffle sauce, parmigiano; shared the tasty pasta with Lawrence and they split the dish for us.

Tiramisu –mascarpone, savoiardi, espresso liqueur, shaved chocolate; great presentation.

Cannoli ricotta filling – one chocolate and one pistachio
