Vancouver Foodster Pizza Challenge

Welcome to the 6th Vancouver Foodster Pizza Challenge. Restaurants from all over the city were invited to enter their pizza into this challenge, some of the restaurants have created a special pizza just for this challenge and others have entered their top choice off their existing menu. Each restaurant will be featuring their pizza on their menu from May 7-31, 2020.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to order any or all of the pizza creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best pizza creation for the People’s Choice award winners. 

Share your experiences: Social share your photos and details by twitter and instagram throughout the challenge; our twitter and instagram address is @vanfoodster and the hashtag is #PizzaChallengeYVR please include this hashtag in all your tweets, instagram stories and instagram posts during the challenge.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite pizza creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste. Just remember to VOTE for your favourites between May 7-31, 2020.

NOTE: Due to the current Covid-19 inside dining restaurant restrictions, the pizza creations in this challenge will be offered by Takeout and Delivery as noted.

It is a celebration of the days spent cooking with our Nonna in the kitchen, enjoying the warm aromas and smiles.  It starts with simple ingredients grown in the garden like basil and tomatoes, including roasted potatoes with sausage and a table filled with everyone’s favourite- hand-cut salami and cheese. Description: Prepared in the true Neapolitan style, all Sprezzatura pizzas are made with “Verace Pizza Napoletana” dough, certified by their in-house VPN pizzaiolo. This highly specialized flour must pass a rigorous 100 hour fermentation process, and is designed for high heat only, necessitating a custom designed 900-degree oven. This time-honoured technique uniquely roasts the toppings from the top down, while preventing the underside from being overcooked, resulting in an unrivalled crust that is both crispy and mouth-wateringly soft.   Our tasty Prosciutto & Pear Pizza is comprised of white sauce, fior di latte, pear, arugula, prosciutto, gorgonzola, roasted walnuts, balsamic reduction & finished with black pepper.

Description: Our pizza rendition of a smoked meat pub style sandwich. Our dough is slathered with an in house made, rich tomato BBQ sauce, Pilsner beer braised Montreal smoked beef brisket, sauerkraut, chopped dill pickles, and a mixture of Swiss and Mozzarella cheese, baked to perfection then finished with a three mustard honey sriracha drizzle and pretzel crumbles.  Cheers!
