Sandwich Challenge Winners 2019

The Vancouver Foodster Sandwich Challenge  was another success featuring creations from restaurants around greater Vancouver. Each restaurant featured their Sandwich creation from September 6-29, 2019. Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.

Our Media judges for this challenge were:  Jay Minter, Tara Lee, and David Grange 

Each media judge will have scored the creation with a maximum of 40 points as follows: Overall Taste 20 points, Originality and Uniqueness 10 points, Presentation and Appearance 10 points). The total number of points a sandwich creation could earn is 120 points.

The Trans-Atlantic Sandwich

Description: The journey starts with a cucumber-wrapped Montreal smoked corned beef amuse-bouche and then travels across the ocean for a Paris-Brest pastry with a Thai-inspired herbal prawn filling with avocado and caramelized purple cabbage, a purple onion purée, grilled sweet corn and pomelo pulps, micro greens, edible flowers and Parmesan Tuiles.
