Last night I attended the season launch of the Terrace at Chambar Restaurant in downtown Vancouver, it was a fun party featuring Sam Zipersky and his group playing jazz music.

Media guests also enjoyed delicious canapes off the various restaurant menus to go along with a selection of cocktails. My favourites were the Bastilla – Filo wrapped duck confit, smoked eggplant, pistachio, almonds, labneh, orange blossom glaze; Stinging nettle dumplingsLe Boeuf – Chicago style AAA striploin, shiitake mushrooms, roasted pine nuts, shaved parmesan, cippolini onion rings; Mezzes taster – Moroccan mixed vegetable salad, eggplant, tahini & almond yoghurt, carrot purée, beet hummus, dates, pistachios, heirloom tomato, falafel, haloumi; Prawn Toast and Tuna on roasted yam.

Chambar Restaurant will be celebrating their 15th Anniversary later this summer. The restaurant is located at 568 Beatty Street in Vancouver, you can call them at 604-879-7119.
