Afternoon Tea at Le Cassis

Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.

Le Cassis Patisserie is located in Yaletown in downtown Vancouver and has been welcoming guests since earlier this spring.

I was joined by Lawrence and we had their Afternoon Tea Service for $39 per person.

Blossoming Tea

I had the Blossoming Tea while Lawrence had the Black Cardamom Tea, we both however shared each so that we could enjoy both of the very different tasting teas.

We were served the 3-tiered tray for two along with a plate of house-made scones.

Lemon and Raisin Scones

The Lemon scones as well as the Raisin scones were moist and delicious, served with house-made jam and cream.

bottom plate

The 3-tiered tray featured an assortment of savouries on the bottom plate that included a ham and cheese croissant, smoked salmon on blinis, Hummus vegetable tart, shrimp and guacamole swan, Mushroom vol au vent.

middle plate

The middle plate featured an assortment of sweets including the mille-feuille, lemon tart, Hazelnut mini Paris brest, and mini layered Vanilla, raspberry and chocolate sponge cake.

top plate

The top plate featured more sweets, a dense chocolate ganache tart, Vanilla macaron and rose Meringue.

My thoughts – From the moment we arrived the hospitality was superb, our server was wonderful and this made for a gracious afternoon tea experience. The elegant Parisian tea room made you feel like you were transported to Paris. I loved the Smoked Salmon Blinis, as well as the Mushroom vol au vent; I also loved both of the scones. From the sweets selection my favourites were the Lemon tart, and the mini Paris brest; along with the chocolate ganache tart, and vanilla macaron.
