On May 2, I attended the 7th Annual Chocolate Challenge fundraiser at Gourmet Warehouse; where many of top chocolatiers in the city were showcasing their chocolate creations for all to try.
First place winner was Jalayne Jones and Okanagan College who presented their Soft beer caramel, Royal Decree milk chocolate ganache, almond pretzel praline.
The other participating chocolatiers included Temper Chocolate and Pastry, Thierry, Thomas Haas, Chocolate Arts, Chez Christophe and the Fairmont Pacific Rim.
Gourmet Warehouse was the gracious host of the evening event proceeds from the Chocolate Challenge were to benefit the Vancouver Firefighter Charities Snacks for Kids program, Project Chef, and the Strathcona Backpack Program.
