Afternoon Tea at Origo Club

Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.

Origo Club is situated in West Richmond near the Olympic Oval and has been welcoming guests since the summer of this year.

I was joined by Lawrence and we had their Traditional French Afternoon Tea Service for $45 per person. Guests have a choice of tea from the selection offered or a specialty coffee. You can add a glass of Barons de Rothschild Champagne Brut for an extra charge of $35.

The 3-tiered set was stunning, each of their special afternoon tea sets were custom crafted for the restaurant. The bottom tier features the house-made scones with cream and jam, the middle tray features savoury delicacies such as choux aux champignons (mushroom choux buns) and quiche Lorraine (egg and bacon tart), and more. The top tray features a tartelette au citron (lemon tart), gateau roulé (vanilla and rum Chantilly with fresh fruit), eclair au gianduja, flan fromage blanc, along with macarons and financiers.

My thoughts

From the moment we arrived the hospitality was superb, our server Remi was wonderful explaining the coffees on offer as well as the tea. I loved their delicious scones as well as the Quiche Loraine, from the top tray my favourites were the Eclair au Gianduja, Flan fromage blanc and the Gateau Roule.
