With it’s focus on Italian inspired food and drink, this neighborhood gem driven by talented chef Alexandrea Fladhamer is turning heads. It’s a fairly small restaurant with table and bar seating, has beautiful colourful art adorning the walls, offers a Negroni lounge list of exciting cocktails. Then there is the food, bright flavours, colourful and unique dishes to make your palate wander. Here it is about fresh hand-crafted pasta and naturally-leavened sourdough thin crust pizza using predominantly regional and seasonal ingredients.

Heirloom Tomato Salad

Fried Polenta

I loved the Heirloom Tomato Salad with orange blossom vinaigrette and pepper ricotta, a beautiful dish with bright flavours. The Fried Polenta with Provolone is a simple dish yet each ingredient plays so well together.

Tre Formmaggio Pizza

Bietola Pizza

The Tre Formmaggio Pizza with fresh mozzarella, smoked cheddar, provolone was a glorious pizza pie, wtih simple ingredients; where the Bietola Pizza with Rapini, fiore di late, bianco sauce, carmelized onions, was quite rich as well as unique.

Farfalle

Fazzoletti

Both pastas were incredible, the Farfalle with mushroom duxelle, pecorino married flavours together as did the Fazzoletti with tomato sauce, heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, ricotta, so creative using the pasta sheets and lightly toasting them with these seasonal ingredients.

Napoleon

Only tried one dessert on this go, the Napoleon with chocolate ganache, salted praline, cardamom cream, was a stunner.

I can’t wait to return to try their dinner menu which features even more pastas and pizzas than what I had enjoyed during my lunch visit.
