Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Ignite offers whole pizza pies as well as slices cooked in an artisanal, stone-fired oven using a low sodium dough that rests for more than three days, making it very light and easy to digest. Over a few visits I have tried several of their pizzas some as whole pizza pies and others by the slice. I loved the Fresh Ricotta Pizza, a vegetarian pie topped with pesto, mozzarella, spinach, fior di latte, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers and fresh ricotta; as well as Giuseppe’s Choice named after Chef Giuseppe Cortinovis who collaborated with them on their pizza dough, this tasty pizza is topped with tomato sauce, fior di latte, soppressata, bacon, caramelized onions and black olives. In addition to the popular pizzas on offer they also feature a build your own pizza option, I created the Potato and Ricotta, this delicious pizza pie was topped with fresh ricotta, alfredo sauce, fior di latte, aged parmesan, rosemary, creamy baked potato.

I have also tried some of their slices including the delicious Marinated Mushrooms, the Pesto Chicken as well as the Vegan’s Favourite. In addition to the pizza which can be easily reheated if you are taking it home, they offer complimentary house-made oils for adding a drizzle to the crust. They also feature Jonny Hetherington JH Essentials locally-made hot sauces complimentary to add to your pizza, the pineapple Habanero is hands down my favourite.

They offer a selection of cold beverages as well as hot drinks from regular espresso based beverages to Turkish Coffee which is the one that I enjoyed.
