Last week I attended a delicious event at Pacific Restaurant Supply, it was a pop-up food event produced by Chef Deniz Tarakcioglu and his partner Hakan Burcuoglu. Featuring a selection of curated cocktails with an esoteric menu inspired by the bounties of Asia Minor [Turkey].
Food was served family/buffet style and the evening began with an incredible spread of appetizers featuring Wild sourdough and brioches, Sun-dried Chili pate, Pie of Saryer, Hummus, Babaganoush, and nuts.
Then there were more dishes served including an Albacore Tuna dish, Octopus, a French lentil Salad, Zucchini Pancakes and other dishes.
Then a selection of main dishes including Sabiha’s Sakshuka, David’s Oyster Mushrooms, Kabuli Chickpea Stew, Meyhane pilaf, Haydari and an outstanding Slow-roasted lamb dish.
There was a selection of cocktails as well as local craft beers and wine for people to enjoy with the food. A DJ was spinning music and there were unique artifacts in random places around the room. It was a packed house of foodies enjoying the space, upstairs of the restaurant kitchen supplier Pacific Restaurant Supply.
Keep an eye out for future events this team creates.
