With it’s focus on small batch artisanal ice cream, they create unique flavours with their culinary partner Eleanor Chow Waterfall of Cadeaux Bakery. They offer 11 flavours that rotate seasonally, always offering 2 dairy free options. Owner, Ian Widgery, is a former UK- and Hong Kong-based record producer; his ice cream shop located in a 1912 heritage building. Covering one of the shop’s walls is a transfer of a black-and-white photo from the early 1900s of Lower Lonsdale, where a general store called the Welcome Parlour used to operate.
Over a couple of visits I have tasted almost all of their flavours, enjoyed a 4 flavour flight of ice cream featuring Apple Pie, Strawberry, Maple Bourbon and Rocky Road; on the second visit I had the Cookies & Cream on top of Rocky Road ice cream waffle cone.
In addition to the cones, cups and flights, there are refreshing ice cream floats made with natural sodas or kombucha to round out the offerings.
