Chocolate Challenge 2017

On April 27, I attended the Annual Chocolate Challenge fundraiser at Gourmet Warehouse; where many of top chocolatiers in the city were showcasing their chocolate creations for all to try and vote.

First place winner was Thomas Haas of Thomas Haas Chocolates, Thomas and Chef Steven Tran presented their Or noir 69% Tonka bean orange ganache, fresh rhubarb compote, zephyr yogurt ganache and oat crunch.

Third place winner was Peter Fong of Ganache Patisserie with his Chocolat au Cafe Vietnamien

Zephyr Gin Ganache and Grapefruit Champagne from Chez Christophe

Sake & Sakura from Purdy’s Chocolates

Gourmet Warehouse was the gracious host of the evening event and $20,000 proceeds from the Chocolate Challenge were donated to Project Chef and the Strathcona Back-Pack Program.
