As one who appreciates a great tasting pizza, I was happy to lend my palate to taste some of Chef Carmine’s new pizza creations at Novo Pizzeria in Kitsilano, here is the run down.
Novo Filetti Pizza with mozzarella di bufalo, basil, semi-dried cherry tomatoes, smoked provolone and arugula; great flavours which come off the semi-dried cherry tomatoes and the fresh arugula, this is one of my new favourites.
Calzone Alla Napoletana with Finochionna salami, fresh mozzarella, smoked provolone, basil; the parmessan crust on the outside provides great texture to the thin crust making it quite tasty.
Pizza Alla Parmigiana with grilled eggplant, fresh mozzarella, basil, mint, parmigiano; the mint adds so much flavour to this great pie.
Chorizo Salami and Chili Honey Pizza an incredible new pizza pie creation topped with fresh mozzarella, basil, smoked provolone, ricotta di bufala and chili honey, Wow! I loved it so much that I ordered another one to go, that chili honey is addictive.
Cinque Formaggi with fresh mozzarella, fontina, parmigiano, smoked provolone, gorgonzola and cracked pepper which really adds to this cheesy pizza pie.
Funghi with truffled cream, fontina, sautéed mushrooms, chives; a rich tasting and delicious pizza pie.
