I have visited this downtown Jewish style deli many times over the past few years, recently they added a deli counter in the front area of the restaurant where you can pickup some of their famous smoked meat or other deli items to go. The Dunn’s Famous deli as it is known was founded in Montreal many years ago and to this day is one of the leading deli’s in that historic city. In each of their restaurants, the smoked meat is the star, it’s brined and smoked in Montreal and shipped out to their Vancouver deli fresh daily.

One of my favourite dishes is the Dunn’s Double Down ($14) with delicious smoked meat, coleslaw and Swiss cheese, sandwiched between 2 Latkes. Other must have dishes are the Montreal Smoked Meat Poutine ($13) made with hand cut Kennebec fries, fresh Canadian cheese curds covered in their original BBQ beef gravy and topped with Montreal Smoked Meat; their Deep Fried Pickles ($5), Beer Battered dill pickles with Red Pepper Mayo.

Other dishes that I love are the Latkes, the Matzoh Ball Soup, the signature Smoked Meat Sandwiches as well as their Dunn’s Famous Strawberry Cheese Cake which is their original Montreal recipe baked in house and fresh strawberries, glazed with strawberry sauce.

You will find a selection of poutines, soups, salads, sandwiches and so much more including items from the deli along with a kids menu to eat-in or take-away.
