Taking elements from traditional Thai dishes with bold flavours, owner/chef Tai Keattivanichvily plays with the ingredients to turn out wonderous dishes. I have dined a few times since opening, had the refreshing and glowing, Bourbon of Bangkok with bourbon, lime, apricot jam and ginger beer. I adored the Yum Som O’ ($13) Pomelo, Three Citrus salad with tamarind sauce, chili, and greens; as well as the outstanding Thai Poutine 2.0 ($13) with taro root, green curry and soft shell crab.
The Nam pik’ ($8) (house made chili dip), Tamarind-chili, shallot, eggplant & fried tofu was delicious, as was the Mok Pla fish in banana leaf ($13) coconut milk, turmeric, red curry paste, kaffir lime and relish.
Loved the Tom Kha ($6) with Fried curry rice ball on top of the galangal coconut milk base soup with basil, lemongrass, lime; rice with red curry paste, kaffir lime leaf, sesame seed; also had the Pork cheeks ($14) served with lemongrass chili dip; and the Gai Yang ($12) Grilled marinated chicken with lemongrass, chili, kaffir lime, fish sauce, served with ‘nam pik’ (house made chili dip).
The Pork Ribs ($15) with ‘nam pik ma kham’ (house made chili- tamarind dip) were flavourful; as was the Chicken Satay ($9) Marinated chicken on a skewer with peanut sauce and cucumber salsa, served with grilled bread. Add the Coconut Rice ($3) and then mixed in the delicious peanut sauce and cucumber salsa.
This is one of those places you are going to want to return to time after time to enjoy flavourful Thai dishes.
