Advice: Counter service.
With a focus on sandwiches and salads, restaurateurs Adam Merpaw and Zach Buckman grew up in cities where they would visit their favourite tuck shoppes in the countryside. Here in their own Tuck Shoppe you will find those elements such as the canoe that hangs from the ceiling, or the wall of pez taking us all back in time. There is food and there is drink which features a small list of local craft beer, a couple of wines and cocktails. On the eats side you will find snacks, healthy salads, sandwiches, soups and some desserts.
I had the Kale + Cauliflower Salad ($10) with quinoa, chickpeas, radish, hemp seeds, honey lime; I tried the Celery Root Soup ($4 small/$6 large) shoppe veg stock, celery root, fennel, pork belly lardon; and I had the French Onion Dip ($11) with 24 hour brisket, Swiss, caramelized onion, fresh horseradish onion jus where a French onion soup meets a French dip which was served with shoppe pickle and Hardbite Chips. For dessert I had the Shoppe Ice Cream S’more ($6.25) which was made exclusively for them by local Brown Paper Packages ice cream.
The eatery is open from 11:30am late into the night daily offering the same menu, so you now have a great place to stop in for one of these delicious salads early in the day or in the evening.
