Dining at Hy’s Encore Upstairs Lounge

Hy’s recently opened their beautiful upstairs lounge which make’s nod to dressing down a notch while enjoying the same excellent food, drink and service. My friend and fellow writer Farhan Mohamed joined me for dinner as we delved into some of their classics with tableside flaming to end the night for dessert.

We enjoyed sharing a bottle of the Surani Primitivo di Manduria Riserva ‘Dionysos’ to go along with a basket of their Garlic Bread (not the popular cheese bread this time around).

We shared the Sauteed Prawns in garlic, tarragon and Pernod; along with their Dungeness Crab Cake with dill mayonnaise, housemade coleslaw.

Tableside service is where it is at here where they have been doing so for the past 53 years, they do offer it for select entrees, we opted for ending our meal on a high note with the server preparing their classic as he made our Bananas Foster.
