Advice: Counter service.
Located in the heart of Kerrisdale is a noodle house that features Hong Kong style and Taiwanese bowls of noodle soups and their famous Cart noodles. Their Cart Noodles are made from specially prepared fresh ingredients and soup, you can select and combine soup and ingredients to your heart’s content or try their “district” special. Another house favourite is the Pantyhose Milk Tea which is also knows as Hong Kong milk tea as it is often brewed in a large tea sock that resembles pantyhose. It has a smooth, creamy texture and has a sweet flavour.
My friends Katherine, Vance and Webster joined me in this dining adventure as we shared the Pantyhose Milk Tea. We then all shared some snacks including the Takoyaki and the Stinky Tofu (not as Stinky as it sounds!)
Next it was on to each of us having one of the “Build your own” Noodle Soups where you can choose from 38 toppings, each is served in large bowls. Many types of noodles to choose from including, rice noodles, udon, ramen and others. I had the Laksa with udon noodles, corn, fish slices, pumpkin, cabbage, watercress; Vance had the Century Egg and parsley fish soup with lamb slices. tofu and pork blood; Katherine had the Malay Laksa topped with the Beef Tripe and Fish; Webster had the Shiitake mushrooms & Century Egg soup, cod fillet & enoki mushrooms for toppings.
For dessert we shared some of the plain Taiwanese style Bubble Waffles along with my personal favourite Hong Kong style Condensed Milk and Sugar stuffed waffles. The menu offers so much more including a large selection of milk and ice teas, beer and more snacks.
