A true one of a kind Roman Pizzeria that is run by co-owners, Alberto Mura and Luca Colasanti. They have brought a Roman style of pizza to the Gastown neighborhood where their fresh, handmade dough is set to rest for 72 hours before it is ready to be baked. The pizza pies are rectangle and the slices are smaller versions of the large pizza pie. There is a communal sharing table, seating along the front window with tables for two as well. It’s a bright room and the pizza bar, open kitchen is the highlight of the room.
I visited for lunch having a few different slices of pizzas which generally run between $3.75 – $4 per slice. The Pata & Pancia was outstanding with rosemary flavours, roasted potatoes and smoky Scamorza; the Monti with wild mushrooms and Italian sausage was delicious as well; the classic Margarita had bright flavours off the tomato sauce; and the Diavolla featured all their meats and a slightly spicy finish.
In addition to the pizza slices, you can get whole pizza pies, as well as salads and beverages.
