Advice: Reservations suggested, walkins welcome. Snag a table on the patio when the weather is good.
With a stunning view overlooking the Gleneagles Golf Course as well as the apple orchard from the outside patio where I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my friend Webster Licaros. It’s about a 15 minute drive from downtown Vancouver in a beautiful spot and it’s ideal for family dining whether out for a round of golf or just an escape from the bustling city.
We shared the Roasted Curry Flower ($8.50) to start with house spice, lime, caramelized yogurt, almonds; we then had the tasty Pound oh Chicken Wings ($12.50) with the lime & black pepper, served with a buttermilk dip on the side.
Next was my favourite of the two salads, the Green Ninja Salad ($13.50) apples, broccoli, kale, edamame, radish, jicama, crispy rice noodles, sesame vinaigrette; followed by the Apple Valley Salad ($12) baby greens, cucumbers, carrots, beets, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, apple vinaigrette.
The Deluxe Orchard Burger ($16.50) was outstanding and full of flavour, 6 oz Alberta organic beef, lettuce, tomato, crispy onion, applewood smoked cheddar, house mayo, on soft brioche bun with a bucked of crispy french fries on the side; this was followed by their delicious Wild Sockeye Salmon ($17.50) with artichokes, capers, tomato, Yukon potato, fresh herbs, crispy shallots, lemon.
For dessert, my favourite of the two desserts was the Mug O Donuts ($6.50) with apple caramel and cinnamon, fluffy filled with apples and delicious, this is one dish you don’t want to share, enjoy on your own. The other dessert was the Peanut Butter Cheesecake ($8) with chocolate ganache on top.
I’m looking forward to returning soon to try more dishes as well as their weekend brunch.
