UPDATED 4/30/16 BUSINESS HAS CLOSED
3941 Main Street, Vancouver
Advice: Sit on the back patio on a dry day. Reservations suggested.
It’s meatball madness and it’s all about the skillets at this Main street kitchen run by owners Herschel Miedzygorski and Chef Uli Schnur. With one of the nicest hidden patios in the city, the backyard patio is where it’s at during the dry season. My friend Kenneth Cho joined me for dinner to share some dishes, we had the Classic Beef Ball Skillet ($14) with fire roasted tomato sauce and a side of garlic bread that could have used a bit more garlic on the bread. We also had the Chicken Meatball Sliders ($9) with pesto sauce, you get 3 of these sliders in an order. Then we had my favourite dish of the night, the Salsiccia ($18) with apple in a creamy tomato sauce tossed with gnocchi; followed by the other favourite, the delicious Goat Cheese Balls ($9) with herb infused honey. For dessert we each had the Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich ($7) housemade vanilla ice cream sandwiched between a couple of chocolate chip cookies.
You’ll find the menu filled with all sorts of different meatballs, sauces and such along with some starters, salads, pastas, soups and more. On the beverage side there are some beer on tap, as well as a full wine list with various selections. The brunch menu looks good and I’m looking forward to a future weekend brunch visit.
