Dine Out Vancouver 2015 Events -picks

The Dine Out Vancouver Festival running January 16 – February 1 will again feature all sorts of different foodie events to accompany it’s popular annual restaurant festival. Below are some of my event picks for this years festival along with the line-up of events that I am producing for the 2nd year in a row with Tourism Vancouver. On Wednesday January 7th I will publish my restaurant picks and tips for selecting the best restaurants, menus and such during this premiere dining festival along with some booking tips for your reservations.

Street Food City, returns for a week-long pop-up during Dine Out Vancouver Festival. Now in its fourth year, Street Food City will take place January 19 – 25, 2015 on the north plaza grounds of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Showcasing more than 25 food trucks, Street Food City will be open to the public Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 3 pm and Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

The participating food trucks include Aussie Pie, JJ’s, Roaming Dragon, Blue Smoke, Jonnys Crème Brulee, Serious Sausage, Chili Tank, Juice Truck, Soho Road, Community Pizza, Kaboom Box, Super Thai, Culver Salads, Le Tigre, Taser, Dougie Dog, Mangal Kiss, Varinicey, Fat Duck, Mogu Food Truck, Vijs Railway, Feastro Bistro, Mom’s Grilled Cheese, Yolks Breakfast, Guanaco, Reef Runner, ZeBite, Holy Perogy and Reel Mac and Cheese.

Gastown Brunch Crawl
Date: Saturday January 17
Time: 10am – 2pm

Other events worth putting on your radar include the Chef Soup Experiment on January 16 at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts with 50 chefs, 50 ingredients and one soup and it is free to attend.  You may also be interested in Side Dishes – The Best of Hawksworth in the York Room, Rosewood Hotel Georgia running on January 17, 20, 24, 27, and 31. On January 23 there is a unique event, the ultimate Mac & Cheese dinner being held at Bistro 101 at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. On January 28th Feast on Film – Like Water for Chocolate is being presented by Granville Island Cultural Society and Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts at Studio 1938, lastly on January 30th The Grape Debate: Trends vs. Terroir is being presented by Alumni UBC and the Wines of British Columbia at the Telus World of Science.
