The latest in my love for trying new pizzerias evolved the other night when I visited this big red Neapolitan style pizzeria food truck that’s formed a symbiotic relationship with some local craft breweries. They are not the first food truck in the city to have a pizza oven inside their food truck, though I believe they are the first to form this type of relationship with a few breweries where pizza and beer pair so well together. It is a win win for any food truck relationship with a brewery, even more so with pizza as it’s the perfect way to indulge in pizza and brew. I visited them in front of Brassneck Brewery on Main Street for the pizza not the brew this time around. I indulged in a couple of pizzas, my absolute favourite of the two was the outstanding Calabrese Pizza ($10) topped with spicy calabrese salami, mozzarella cheese, parmesan, basil, extra virgin olive oil and tomato sauce on a crispy personal size (10”) Neapolitan pizza followed by the Funghi Pizza ($10) topped with mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, parmesan, basil, extra virgin olive oil and tomato sauce.
The menu is fairly simple as they feature 4 traditional pizzas, it’s a friendly crew, with great prices and I am very much looking to see them stir the pot so to speak and take their concept to the next level of taking the pizza forward with all sorts of out of box toppings, let the adventure begin!
