1336 Lonsdale, North Vancouver
Advice: Reservations needed for large parties.
The ‘Little’ as this new spot in upper Lonsdale is known is far from a little bit of it’s sibling restaurant in lower Lonsdale. It boasts an exuberant energy as well as blues music in the background. The room is long and narrow, the space is well thought out, cool light fixtures and light bulbs, white tiled walls, with patios out back and in front, a bar that’s spaced and situated perfectly as well as a little kitchen as you enter where you can see the chef’s team from the front window.
Had dinner with a friend and shared some dishes, started off with the very good Cod Fritters ($12) prawns, cod and corn battered served in a cone, also had the Cod Fish Tacos ($12) battered cod, red apple slaw, topped with a Spanish paprika mayo. Next was outstanding Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese ($9) a rich, thick tomato bisque.
The Fourteen Buck Chuck ($14) was outstanding with a juicy beef party, shredded lettuce, great sauces and a very good bun! We also shared the Cod Po’Boy ($12) served with a large pile of really good fries. For dessert, we went with their only offering, the delicious Deep Fried Cranberry Apple Pie with vanilla anglais.
