Indian Summer Festival July 4-13

The Indian Summer Festival returns to Vancouver from July 4-13. Much more than your typical arts festival, Vancouver’s Indian Summer is about culturally-rich collaborations and fostering an open, thought-provoking dialogue between Canada and South Asia. Topics range from exploring cultural identity to what makes for a ‘happy city’. Experts from our local community and abroad share their insights on wellness through mediation, laughter yoga and ayurveda workshops; while chefs, dancers and musicians enliven our senses through an exploration of South Asia’s finest art and cuisine.

Celebrate the first day of Indian Summer with festival artists, patrons and special guests. Vancouver’s gastronomic guru Vikram Vij curates a culinary tour of South Asia featuring multiple food stations by well-known Vancouver-based South Asian restaurants, offering dosas, momos and other rare-to-find delicacies, all paired with fine beverages including award-winning wines from Volcanic Hills and Kalala.

CBC News Vancouver’s meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe will be broadcasting her segment live from the gardens that night. Plus live performances by internationally acclaimed band Rajasthan Josh, and percussionist/DJ/beat-boxer Rup Sidhu.

Eat, sip and wander through the jewel that is the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, all the while mingling with Vancouver’s best and brightest. This is an enchanted evening not to be missed!
