I had the best tasting experience at Goldfish last year.  I booked a private room for a meeting and ordered a tasting menu.  The food and service were fantastic!

The Apron. I love taking guests and watching them pause for a few moments after taking a bite and then saying, “That was amazing. What was it?” That’s what Chef Hamid does – takes food and elevates it to another level. Course after course….

I consistently have great tasting experiences at La Brasserie on Davie. The best tasting experince was the Sunday morning after my wedding when my husband and I went to La Brasserie for our favourite brunch: Oeufs du jour (with rabbit) and oysters washed down with champagne! We sat at the bar and watched Chef Kai ensuring every plate was at it’s best and the staff were amazing as usual. I’ve been recommending the place to everyone :)

    Cheers,

Though it is tough to do with so many restaurants in town; I can only offer the most recent best tasting experience. My anticipated visit to Verace Pizzeria did not at all disappoint. As a trained cook, I tend to be very discriminant and critical when it comes to dining out – however, one taste of the offerings at Verace calmed my critcal nature. The food is fresh and the ingredients can all be tasted, and not to mention their delectable house made desserts! So Verace Pizzeria has my vote!

I’d say that I’ve had the best tasting experience at The RainCity Grill, it’s been a favourite of mine since I was a teenager, every time I’ve gone I’ve been treated to some of the best local produce and meats prepared by grade A chefs and cooks,my most memorable dish there involved a canelloni made from a swiss chard leaf and filled with fresh farmers cheese.

I would have to say Ebo at the Grand Villas Casino as not only was the food of the highest quality but Chef Daniel Craig has a unique vision.  The consume was cooked at our table in a beaker. Lamb chops were succulent and pistachio brulee was really wonderful and I have never seen a version of bulee like that.  We also had squid ink with our scallops.  We also had wine perfectly paired with each course.  The bonus about this meal was that I told them I was lactose intolerant and each dish was made with my food allergy in mind.  Kudos to Ebo Restaurant.

There’s something to be said about making your own pizza…my son & I had a great time at Rocky Mountain Flatbread during their family night, where kids get to make their own pie.  We got our hands dirty with flour, sauce, cheese, pepperoni & veggies (very minimal veggies) and in the end, fresh from the oven was the best tasting (& successful) pizza we ever made.

I loved my tasting experience at Les Faux Bourgeois! Every dish and item ordered had its own unique flavour, plus you aren’t breaking the bank when you have dinner & wine here!

Blue Water Cafe & Raw Bar treated myself and a friend to a 7 course dining extravaganza, complete with wine/sake with every course (and prosecco to start the evening). I still remember the deliciousness of each course… fresh shucked oysters, sushi rolls, tuna tartare, chinook salmon, sablefish, and finished with TWO desserts. Everything was beautifully prepared, our drinks were well paired, and the service topnotch. Definitely my best dining experience!

There’s just something about Society (by Glowbal Group) that always gets me back there! They’ve treated me with the most amazing tasting experience ever – from the drinks, to the meals, to the cotton candy! I mean, who serves cotton candy – with or without the drink! I think every restaurant should have a little fun like Society and add something as “sweet” as cotton candy :)

I love Taste of Punjab in Surrey – great butter chicken, great service

  • Robin

We really loved the Apron in Richmond. We had the seven course tasting menu and were thrilled at the innovation and the unique flavour combos I wouldn’t have experienced before.

The latest I can remember was at the Teahouse in Stanley Park. Such a beautiful view on the patio..very nice waitress and the food was spectacular. A tasty charcuterie plate and a smoked salmon flat bread..pure bliss. Great place on a sunny day.

Lumiere in 2008 was the best tasting experience I have ever had!  White Onion Veloute, Veal, Fondant (more like an epic lava cake) all with divine wine pairings.    The service was excellent, and I left feeling more than satisfied, especially since it was part of Dine out Vancouver and I had saved a bundle!

I have had my best tasting experience at CRU. It was for an Aphrodisiacs and wine tasting.  All the foods had some sort of aphrodisiac quality and was paired with white or red wines.  Truffle risotto was one of the best dishes served that evening.

My best tasting experience ever has come from Miku on W. Hastings. They seem to excel at everything and put so much attention to detail! Everytime I go, I have to get some aburi sushi – the depth and complexity of flavours amazes me. They do a great job with traditional menu items as well AND they have absolutely divine desserts! Coast on Alberni Street in downtown. Fresh ingredients and a great mix of flavours. The seafood there was absolutely amazing. Although a bit overpriced it was well worth it. I’m a student and I spent a month’s paycheck to take my friend there for her birthday. One of the best restaurants in all of Vancouver. Will always recommend.

I loved my experience at La Buca. Not only are the staff/managers warm and accommodating, the food was wonderful and the experience was very memorable. I highly recommend that restaurant. Another wonderful experience was also at Octopus Garden for their Omakase menu. Fantastic food.

The best tasting experience in Vancouver, as a sushi fanatic, has to be at Hachi Sushi in Richmond.  It’s a fairly small and humble establishment, yet the main focus is in the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Their ikura is probably the best I’ve had in the city and the toro just melts in your mouth!

Nyala in Vancouver has treated us the best while eating there. The owner continues to let us order a dish which is no longer on the menu, he has taken care of our parents when they’ve visited, making them feel very welcome.

  • Cecilia Chun

Salade de Fruits Cafe has definitely been one of the best food tasting experiences ever. I really felt like I was in a French bistro. The food was amazing, the servers were funny and laid-back and did I mention the food was amazing? They have such a large variety of different foods and everything is executed perfectly from their delicious sandwich and salads at lunch to their amazing mussels and frites at dinner! I love the American Grille in Richmond. Yum!
