Advice: reservations not necessary.
I dined here on the hottest day of the year actually the hottest in Vancouver’s history, I was amazed by how great the service was even on such a hot night. My water glass was never empty, questions were answered and the food was described to perfection. My friend, Jeremy Lim who is also a food lover and I shared the house special appetizer, Smoked Black Cod & Halibut Cake ($13) on roasted corn & heirloom tomato salad with samphire (sea asparagus). I then had the Avocado and Mango Salad ($9) on baby arugala, spiced pepitas, and sweet onion, toasted cumin vinaigrette, fried panela cheese, I also had the heavenly Chickpea Fries ($6) with smoked paprika mayo.
The room is intimate in a vibrant way, seating tucked off to the side for 4 people and table seating for 2+ on the opposite side, the marble bar looks great and was well thought out for this type of space. The menu features a variety of small plates or appetizers followed by a more detailed list of mains, there is a well thought out wines list for red and white as well as a selection of local beers, my friend had the Dead Frog and he loved it. The dessert selection was small but each looked intriguing, if only I was still hungry I would have ordered one or we would have had all 3 to share. There are so many dishes that I want to try, I will be back for another visit soon.
